Cindy Pogrund, “Shifting Focus and Capitalizing on Opportunities”

cindy_pogrundDid you know that Instagram was originally a location based service similar to Foursquare? Or that Flickr was originally a multiplayer online roleplaying game called Neverending before it pivoted to solely focus on the games popular photo sharing feature? And Twitter started off as Odeo, a service that revolved around personal podcasting and sharing audio content, before it razor focused into sharing thoughts in 140 characters. Join me to discuss ideas about when and how to pivot.

Cindy Pogrund is responsible for all aspects of customer experience from customer success to product strategy. Prior to joining Ifbyphone, Cindy held multiple positions at Xpedior, a $250M systems integration firm created by combining Metamor Technologies with other Corestaff entities. kapetanskyThe next program of the J2J Networking Group will take place on Tuesday, May 21st at 7:30PM at Congregation Or Torah, 3800 W. Dempster, Skokie.

As Facebook fades a bit among their core demographic (young adults), and Twitter waxes and wanes, one social networking site has quietly continued strong steady growth, and positioned itself as *the* social networking site for business people. You probably all recognize this as LinkedIn, but did you know that most of LinkedIn’s revenue is from its Job Search? This highly interactive J2J Networking session is focused on how to improve and optimize your use of LinkedIn for job networking. Our facilitator is Glenn Kapetansky, a Director at WellPoint with decades of experience on all three sides of job search (hiring, seeking, and networking).
